We are a group of small animal practices in Edinburgh, first established in the 1950’s. We are passionate about animal care and our skilled team of veterinarians and vet nurses are dedicated to providing the highest quality care for your animals. Because we love animals and strive to provide excellent continuity of care, we are open six days a week and have access to 24-hour emergency care.
Amanda qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2005 and has worked in a variety of environments including referral hospitals, charity clinics and teaching roles. She works full-time at our Tollcross branch and runs regular nursing clinics. Amanda has a particular interest in both surgical nursing and nutrition. At home she has a handsome yellow Labrador called Max and also enjoys walking and photography.
Shauni Wilson RVN
Shauni has been a member of the West End Vets Team for some time and passed her final nursing exams in early 2021. The whole team is very proud of her completing her training and enjoy working with her. She owns two rats, Otto and Gus, pictured here.
Marissa Scallon RVN
Marissa joined the team in October 2020 and works mainly in our Morningside surgery, supporting vets, assisting with surgical and dental procedures and providing high quality nursing care for patients.
Patient Care Assistant
Naomi joined the team in November 2020 and works across all three surgery locations, supporting the vet and nurse teams and ensuring that patient care facilities are kept up to scratch.
Animal Nursing Assistant
Angie joined the practice in 2002 working as an animal nursing assistant after having always wanting to work with animals. She grew up with various dogs, a tortoise, chinchilla, various budgies and a very chatty mynah bird. When she was younger Angie used to spend the school holidays working on her great-aunts dairy farm. She is passionate about all animals and is known as a bit of a “mad cat lady”. Angie achieved her level two City and Guilds certificate in monitoring anaesthesia in 2016 and is now studying for her diploma in veterinary care assistance. At home Angie has a cat called Rover and an extremely lazy Lurcher called Maggie. In her free time she loves being outdoors so enjoys spending time gardening and taking Maggie for walks.
