We are delighted to announce that we have a new veterinary surgeon joining the team at Davidson’s Mains.
Claire Edington will be starting on Monday 10th September and will be working on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Claire is an experienced and lovely vet and we are very excited to have her join us.
Who is Claire?
Claire graduated from The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, Edinburgh, in 2003 and initially worked as a mixed animal vet in South Wales but quickly realised that large animal work was not for her! She then went on to work in a variety of small animal practices up and down the UK. Claire’s husband is an aircraft mechanic in the Royal Navy so she has been following him around the country from Kirkcaldy to Cornwall.
For the past three years Claire has been a lecturer in veterinary nursing at the College of Animal Welfare in Edinburgh. She loved teaching and learnt a lot but is looking forward to getting back into practice. Claire particularly enjoys dermatology and geriatric feline medicine. She is a qualified veterinary acupuncturist and looks forward to bringing this service to West End Vets.
Out of work, Claire has a young daughter who keeps her busy along with two dogs, Jura and Lewis and a guinea pig called Squeak.
Our new opening hours
With Claire starting we have taken the opportunity to modify our opening hours at Davidsons Mains with effect from Tuesday 11th September. Due to client demand we will now also be offering some morning and earlier appointments on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays the practice will be open 10am – 4pm with consults available 10.30am – 12pm and then 1pm – 2.30pm.
Our opening and consulting times will remain the same for Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Open 12.30 – 6.30pm with consults available 2.30pm – 4pm and 5 – 6.30pm.
We hope these new and improved opening hours will allow a bit more flexibility.
